A View of Life Before Adulthood

One week until I turn 18. One week until the unknown black-hole of American adulthood finally catches up to me, even though I've been unofficially been dipping my toes into it with my small college existence for nearly two years now. It relieves me, yet makes me nervous at the same time. I'm excited I'll be able to get my blood drawn or get a library card without my parents being present, but my choices will now be my responsibility-there isn't a person to answer for my stupidity after this birthday.
It feels like just yesterday I was 13 wishing for 16. It's a surreal feeling in all honesty. Maybe I'm the weird one because I'm not totally stoked to be an adult, but, if I'm honest, I've never been a fan of chasms of unknown, which sounds quite cowardly I'm sure. However, it's a chance to mature; a chance to grow more and learn more. Like college and every other thing: it is just a means to a beautiful end with our beautiful Savior. It is more life to enjoy His grace and love to a greater extent. Plus, let's face it...18 isn't 30! (Thank goodness!)

Things I'm obsessed with...

  • chalkboard markers-my amazing boyfriend got me some of these in every color for a chalkboard I made a few months ago and I love them.
  • This website for printing your Instagram photos. You just login to your instagram and pick the photos you want and what kind of polaroid border you want. Can't wait to try this out!
  • Amanda Watter's instagram feed (@mamawatters). She loves her babies so much and I love seeing her pictures everyday.
  • Snail mail (I buy lots of stamps).
  • G2 pens-umn, yeah, why didn't I figure out I loved these so much like 4 semesters ago? They make my handwriting actually look beautiful.
  • Stationary & post-it tabs (those ones that stick in your text books that are different colors are amazing!)
  • Cuddling with the new teddy bear my boyfriend bought me for Valentine's Day. I love him (and my boyfriend) ;)
  • Jesus+Nothing=Everything by Tullian Tchividjian-a great friend of mine lent me this book at the beginning of last semester and, although I'm generally a quick reader, I found I had to take my time with this one. It was such a deep, brilliant reminder of the Gospel and I highly recommend it.
